How it works

Cost = buy × units × (1 + buy fee). Proceeds = sell × units × (1 − sell fee). Profit = proceeds − cost; ROI = profit ÷ cost. Break-even price = buy × (1 + buy fee) ÷ (1 − sell fee).

Worked example

Buy 0.5 BTC at $30,000, sell at $45,000, 0.1% fees each side: cost ≈ $15,015, proceeds ≈ $22,477, profit ≈ +$7,462, ROI ≈ +49.7%, break-even ≈ $30,060.

Crypto profit calculator FAQ

How is crypto profit calculated?

Profit = (sell price × units × (1 − sell fee)) − (buy price × units × (1 + buy fee)). The calculator applies fees to both the buy and sell legs so the result reflects what actually lands in your account.

What is the break-even price?

The sell price at which you neither gain nor lose after fees: buy price × (1 + buy fee) ÷ (1 − sell fee). Sell above it to profit.

Does this include taxes?

No — it covers trading fees only. Capital-gains tax depends on your jurisdiction and holding period; treat the result as pre-tax.
