Verdict
OKX has competitive fees and an EU licence, but for our readers it's largely moot: it's restricted in the Philippines, left India in 2024, and exited Canada in 2023. Its 2025 US guilty plea also weighs on trust.
Who it's for
EU-based traders comparing low-fee platforms. Not an option for users in the Philippines, India, or Canada.
Safety, regulation & track record
In February 2025 the operator of OKX pleaded guilty in the US to operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business, paying about $504 million. Its Maltese entity was fined about €1.1M for AML failures. It holds a MiCA authorisation via Malta (2025).
